Beauty Industry Quake Appeal

Do you feel like you want to help but don’t know what to do? Our Christchurch Beauty Industry Colleagues have been affected by the largest disaster in New Zealand’s history, and many of us would like to do as much as we can to support them and help rebuild their lives and businesses.

As an industry, we can collaborate and offer our collective assistance to those of our colleagues who have been affected both personally and in business. Many salons will need help with not just rebuilding their homes and business premises – but assistance with the continuing costs of staff wages and overheads, with little or no income coming in.

The idea is for all suppliers and stockists outside of Christchurch to band together and donate to a cause – the Beauty Industry Quake Appeal.

Angels For Children

Thank you for providing support to our Annual appeal, without your support it would be impossible for our organisation to assist special needs children and/or organisations to improve their lives and services.

When Angels for Children Charitiable Trust was first formed we didn’t know if other individuals in communities would appreciate that there are thousands of special needs children and services in communities that go without basic funding for some health, medical or educational services just because the applicant did not meet the requirements of specific agencies that have been set up to provide assistance for these children/organisations.

Over the last 7 years due to the support of individuals like you we have provided hundreds of thousands of dollars to assist special needs children and organisations throughout New Zealand, this assistance sometimes comes in the form of providing specific products

(medical, educational) or assisting in medical procedures that improve the child’s quality of life, thousands of special needs children have benefited through this assistance.

We at Angels for Children Charitable Trust will continue to work hard to provide assistance through our between the gaps grant programme, and will endeavour to make a change whether it be small or life changing to as many special children throughout the community
each year.

Fostering Kids

Fostering Kids exists to support the foster families who open their homes and hearts to the children in their care. We do this by providing encouragement, support and education to both foster parents and foster kids, so that the placement has the best possible chance of working out. We want to be able to grow our services and make them available to more foster parents – and in turn, help Kiwi kids in foster care recover their sense of self-worth and learn to trust the world again.

More than 10,000 children and young people in New Zealand are unable to live with their biological parents because they have been subjected to, or are at risk of, abuse or neglect. Out of the estimated 6,000 foster families in New Zealand, Fostering Kids is currently only able to support a quarter of them. These children will spend days, weeks, months, or sometimes years, living in a foster family. You cannot change the world, but you can change a child’s world.

With your support we will make a difference to foster families in your region and throughout New Zealand.

Epilepsy Foundation of NZ

Please read about its history and aims and how the Foundation is working to help people with epilepsy.

The Epilepsy Foundation of New Zealand was established in 1987 to raise awareness within the community and money for the one in fifty people nationwide who have to live with epilepsy.

Epilepsy is the least accepted, acknowledged, understood and supported of all natural conditions, as identified by WHO.

In order to achieve its aims a capital fund is maintained and developed, from which the interest only can be used to fund epilepsy services.  The capital fund is targeted for the purchase of a building to be used as a neurological centre.

A promotional team runs Film, Ten Pin Bowling and Pool Party Festivals throughout New Zealand for children disadvantaged by epilepsy and requiring special needs, along with their families and caregivers.  Many warm letters of appreciation are received.

From time to time volunteers help with projects.  Their expertise and generosity of spirit is very much appreciated.

A number of other projects have been, or are being, developed.  The Epilepsy Foundation makes every effort to help itself achieve its goals.
